Encryption or misunderstood?
Hello, here is the problem I encountered :
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chef, I recovered a dark email .
I'm afraid to go into this strange world.
Can you please help me !?
What about this webmail : 4mz5f5szcdkkurlecmghsqppxasbbtj7sqlumwoicj3mgkvfxrrbqwid
I know that the username is : 1234
To not write the password in clear, please find the informations below :
An integer just after the 5
An integer just after the ² (not the 2) - Doesn't work on Mac 😉
Then reverse exft
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4mz5f5szcdkkurlecmghsqppxasbbtj7sqlumwoicj3mgkvfxrrbqwid -> I can't understand what type of encryption it can be or I misunderstood the meaning of the sentence ?
Thanks for your help

So, it appears to be a Beaufort cipher
Beaufort cipher
The Beaufort cipher, created by Sir Francis Beaufort, is a substitution cipher similar to the Vigenère cipher, with a slightly modified enciphering mechanism and tableau. Its most famous application was in a rotor-based cipher machine, the Hagelin M-209. The Beaufort cipher is based on the Beaufort square which is essentially the same as a Vigen...
Beaufort Cipher (online tool) | Boxentriq
Tool to decrypt Beaufort ciphers. The Beaufort cipher is named after Sir Francis Beaufort. It is similar to the Vigenère, but the encryption and decryption is reciprocal (the encryption and decryption algorithms are the same). The Beaufort cipher is a polyalphabetic cipher.
I'm guessing the integer stuff is regarding some part of the key
Not gonna lie, I have no idea what "then reverse exft" means
Thank you, but I understood the messages of the last part (a username and a password, but I didn't post the real ones xD), but I still can't decode this this string of characters(I thought at the beginning a web link or a server address since it gives the username and password), why does he talk about Webmail?
It might decode into something like a URL or a part of an email
It could be a running key, too
But the problem with the Beaufort cipher is that you can't use digits for the key, it's just letters
Someone tell me it's forehead bash or stroke bash.. what u think?
I have no idea what either of those are and google just gives me a bunch of gifs of people smashing their faces on things
