My Uncertainty about Career Planning

Hello friends! I was interested in the field of cyber security. I started university this year. But now it is said that job opportunities are very difficult. Frankly, I'm not sure about my field. Can I get your opinion on this? How can I find the most suitable field for myself? I guess it will be in the IT field.

From my view right now, it looks like the tech sector as a whole is experiencing some interesting times. Bunch of layoffs and shifts in where companies are allocating budgets etc, partly coinciding with the recession. However, at the same time, there's still a decent number of openings, just maybe a bit more competitive now than before. Cybersecurity definitely isn't going away, especially with the mass availability of generative ai, the industry might be changing where it allocates IT spending and the types of jobs that are in need, but we're not really at a point where I'd be overly concerned about never finding a job in cybersecurity. I'd say if you're just starting your educational journey now, by the time you're wrapping up, the industry should be (hopefully) rebounding from the economic state we're in that's affecting way more than big tech alone. Now's a really good time to invest in yourself through education, certs, internships/volunteering, and really making sure that as soon as you're ready to jump in, you're highly competitive no matter where the economy is at.

I completely agree with you. Thank you for your long response, it means a lot to me. Right now, I want to choose the IT field that suits me and start my business life and personal development early. In addition, I need to learn the English language as another big problem. Do you have any advice on these issues?
