crash game
I've had this for two days, I don't know why all the updates are good, everything worked fine, and now I'm not, I uninstalled the game and everything and checked the files on Steam, but still this problem, it crashes on other games, but not all of them.

I did what he told me, still nothing, everything is up to date on my PC
Not sure what to do since that's in French
if you can translate it a bit maybe?
ok wait
The graphics execution detected a failure or a lack of hardware, that's the message at the top and it did that to me from one day to the next
Yeah, probably a hardware issue then
Are you sure, but what could it be then, because I haven't touched anything?
You haven't, but it might be trying to allocate more resources than your hardware supports
If I unplug and replug the graphics card it might work.
What should I do?
Not sure honestly, I'm not great at hardware stuff
Someone else might be able to help you
@_null is the goat at troubleshooting, maybe he can
ok ty
Is this game specific?
or are you receiving errors with other graphics processes?
non sur des jeux qui crash pas sur d'autre oui
non only gpu
English please, my french is terrible
sorry no on games that crash not on others yes
If its game specific, I would try reinstalling the game. If other games are crashing too, it might indicate a hardware failure.
Did you install new drivers for your gpu recently?
That can also sometimes cause issues.
I have already reinstalled the game, still the same, but I don't know what to do if it's a hardware failure.
Yes, and since then it's been like that
ah, you might want to go back to a slightly older driver then
that might fix the issue
do you know how to do it please
what graphics card do you have?
nvidia 4070ti
try this:
To roll back to a previous graphics driver, follow these steps:
- Open Device Manager by pressing the Windows key + X and selecting Device Manager.
- Expand the Display adapters category and right-click on your graphics card.
- Select Properties and then go to the Driver tab.
- Click on the Roll Back Driver button and confirm your choice by selecting Yes.
If the Roll Back Driver option is grayed out, it means Windows does not have a previous driver version stored. In this case, you can:
- Visit the device manufacturer’s website to download an older driver version.
- Use Windows' built-in driver library by clicking "Update Driver" and choosing "Browse my computer for drivers."
So I have another problem I just did that but my second screen is black it doesn't turn on normal?
you rolled back the driver?
did you restart the computer?
try to be specific as possible about what exactly you did. More detail the better
Do you have a 13th/14th gen Intel processor?
I know that's going to seem sooooo out of left field, but I promise it's relevant to this if you do have one of the 13/14 gens
13th
Desktop PC or Laptop?
Essentially, is it a computer with an accessible BIOS
desktop
yes
Alright, so that's the first sign I had (and confirmed by Intel themselves) of my former 13900KS dying because of the issues they have with the 13/14 gen processors effectively torching their rings. For starters, I would start a line of communication with Intel, because even the Band-Aid fix steps may not save the processor if it's too far gone.

Next, can you get into your BIOS and tell me what the motherboard model is and what BIOS version you are currently running?
for the motherboard it is MSI PRO B760 - P

Gotcha, give me one sec
Ok
Alright, first thing, go to the MSI page for your mobo and click the support tab and look for the most recent BIOS version, should be 7E29v1A1 released on May 15, 2025.
Go through the BIOS flash process and get the BIOS up to the newest version as they have released updates with the updated Intel microcode to sort some of the issues out.

You have to put this on a USB key because I never did the BIOS update.
Yeah, you'll make sure the USB stick is formatted FAT/FAT32 otherwise it will not work. Try to use a stick with nothing else on it, so that way the only file for the mobo to see if the BIOS file you save to it.
Take the formatted stick with the downloaded/unzipped BIOS version on it, and plug it into the back in the port usually with a boxed outline that says "BIOS", "Flash", or something of that nature on it.
Once plugged in, boot into BIOS and select that "M-FLASH" option in the bottom left corner of the screen and follow the process from there
At the top of that support page there is a youtube video and a PDF with step-by-step instructions on how to flash the BIOS if you need extra guidiance as well 🙂
Ok is good

Make sure XMP is turned back on and save/exit and let it boot into Windows
Where can I find the xmp?
Right under the "DDR Speed" section on the top left, there's a button that says "xmp profile 1". I know mine is red once I've enabled it, which is why I suggested turning yours back on as well. (I have an MSI board as well)
Should just have to click it
Once you're finished, try launching the game that caused the issue again and see if the error repeats. If it doesn't, at least right now, your processor might be ok and saved from further damage. If it does pop up again, there are a couple of other settings you can manually change in the BIOS to cap the voltage spikes through the ring. However, they can be pretty involved and not something I recommend to those that aren't experienced in overriding defaults in the advanced BIOS config menu.
I can't find it, I'm sorry
it can be found on this page

I click here, it doesn't do anything
Alright, try clicking the "Memory" option iin the EZ Mode menu on the left-hand side and snap a picture of what that menu looks like. It's possible it defaulted to on, which is fine, but I just wanted to be sure lol

Ok, looks like it's enabled. Save & exit and let it boot into Windows
Once you've booted in, try launching the game again and see if the error persists
I'm guessing since it's been two hours that fixed it? lol
Thats gratitude for you. Good call though, I didn't know about that processor issue.
Yeah, it's almost a complete redirect because it shows up and makes you think it's a GPU issue, but it's the processor screaming for help before it dies. Usually pops up as "out of graphical memory", or other graphic related error, but that's the voltage spike in the ring frying the silicon one spike at a time.
Just out of curiousity, how did you know about that? Did it happen to you?
Yep, my 13900KS started to die and that's exactly how it started. Then Intel dropped the info about the 13/14th gen having issues and the warranty extension, but mine passed everything with their software tester/checker. I reached out to them, told them the issues I was experiencing along with logs, screenshots, etc. and they confirmed that was the early signs of a failing processor. Ended up RMA-ing it, and bought a 14900KS to replace it, then changed a few BIOS settings to further prevent that from happening to my new one, even after their microcode updates because they still allow damage unfortunately.
