Redownload the iso, it may be broken, download an older version if that doesnt work

Either u messed up somewhere, or, as mentioned above, download the iso file again.

donwload another iso, this also happened to me in arch linux, i remember i installed it over 50 times and it failed,
the fix was to download the iso again (it was a newer version) and everything worked fine (:

yea i get this sometimes, usually just try again

also there's really no need to install on separate partitions especially for a VM, kali can handle it just fine by itself
