Laptop fan

My asus tuf gaming has a fan that works weirdly. It makes a weird sound, like it would create friction. When I opened the case, I saw the metal was slightly bent lower in 2 places, very little and in a very small area. (In the picture, one I took before I opened the laptop a second time, there's only one bend, barely noticeable in the zone of thigter metal (idk how to describe), and I am unsure if I should try to fix it myself or get it changed. Any advice would be appreciated, I don't really have the budget to fix it at the time

Hmm. I don't really see the bends in the picture. I also don't really hear the problem. I will trust that they are there though.

You could possibly order just a new fan for it. It looks like there is a QR code and serial number on the fan. Since you are already comfortable opening the case, I think you could replace it fairly easily.

It is a bit bent, and in the video I sent the sound it makes is weird, normally it makes a very smooth sound

Its a heatsink. I'm not sure. We can look it up if you like. Do you know the exact laptop you have? Usually there is a sticker on the bottom that will give you the model and serial number. We just need the model

EIther way, you may be able to bend it back, but I would stress caution. If you render the fan inopperable you wont be able to use the laptop until its replaced.

If I'm not mistaken, this is 4-5 years old? The fan might just be wearing out. The bearings don't last forever and the dust accumulation also causes airflow issues.

I do believe I have found replacement fans.

Which leads me to believe you can take the heatpipes off the gpu and replace them. You would likely need thermal paste or pads to do that correctly.

I was hoping to find an article that discusses it, but I haven't yet.
