restarted pc and fixed it but I wanna know what caused it so I can potentially fix any problems in my pc or prevent this from happening again

That's known as artifacting. It could be a driver issue or hardware starting to fail.

I would suggest checking your cables first. Unplug, make sure there is no burns, tears, bent pins, etc. Maybe even try a different cord if possible. It could be a failing GPU or an outdated or corrupted driver.

It could also be heat related.

Only issue with my pc that ive noticed is that one of the fans is hitting something as its spinning causing it to make noise. otherwise i havent noticed anything wrong with it. Im taking it down to the computer shop to have them clean it out for dust and stuff Ill ask them to check the hardware and cables for anything. Thanks for the help :D Praying its not the hardware 😭 PC isnt even 2 years old 💔

Replacing a fan is far cheaper than just about any other hardware issue for sure. Fingers crossed for you!
