Why all of the Names and User names changed to that
Is it bad or not?
Did this happen randomly or did you just found about about this
is this home or business
This suddenly happen when I opened my computer today after it got turned off due to electricity cut off
Home
sheet

Suddenly that tho
Did a friend come over?
Yeah like a long time ago
Is this bad?
Before or after this power outage?
after power outage
Did you just upgrade windows
I'm not sure
Are they trustworthy
Because I let my computer turned on for days
Did they install anything
What about you ask them if they did anything
That stupid friends of mine installed a crack editing apps which I told him not to
But
I already
uninstalled those apps
Oh well
Doesn’t usually work like that
Hmm
… does any interacting with those apps and this happening connect?

Nope I uninstalled those apps like a few weeks ago
@Rumiaa move the files from c drive (downloads, pictures documents, desktop etc) to any other partition and then from settings> troubleshooting> reset this pc
Oh well
youll be fine afterwards
Yeah reset it
Nuke it
Switch to Linux
i was thinking that
Aww man
So I got compromised because of my stupid friend...
just reset it barely takes time, and you wont lose anything
Just back up any important files on google drive
@Rumiaa do you have a key for win10 or 11
Yup
MOS no key needed (don’t tell Microsoft I said that)
just move to other partition
back up your data and factory reset. If it still has the issue, reinstall the operating system
I'm wondering if it's bad or not cuz youtube said that Unknown account is fine

But I'm not sure
And why does when my pc turned on again the bitlock suddenly turned on by itself
your friend as messed around with settings most likey
You're fine as long as the unknown accounts domt have permission check marks
Just reset it
Probs
you should move data from c to other partition and reset it
What about special permission
Just reset it

if you hang in for long no wonder what happens next
RESET IT ALREADY
jjst go move files and reset
Finee T~T
Bakck up the important data
How to reset my pc again?
settings
troubleshoot
reset this pc
BitLocker is a data encryption service for Windows, by itself it is safe, but as you got random users, the best bet i factory reset
first move data from downloads, desktop, pictures or these folders
To any other partition
Like d e f g
Only important stuff
whatever you have
Then reset
Where is troubleshoot
Don’t back up useless stuff
Follow this
in search box, Type "Recovery"
in settings app
there on the botton or either right side
reset this pc
@Rumiaaare you on windows 10 or 11
Dosent matter
both are similar at core

keep files
Alright
and proceed

local
wait
cloud
Cloud
Alright
also do not let your friends mess around on your computer alone next time
Do I need to change all of my password?
Do that when windows reinstalls
it will automatically ask you to enter new one
i would and get a password manager
And log in with your current Microsoft account
after it restarts and finishes its the simple windows set up
Nothing fancy
now chill and relax
Okie, all of this just because he installed that stupid adobe crack apps
let your computer do the thing
If you want to use cracked apps, always download and do on a seperate disk drive
Yeah my friend was dumb because I always buy non crack app but he used my computer to download those editing apps without telling me where did he downloaded it
happens
But could u tell me what is happening?
on?
like what reset does?
What is this bitlock and unknown account\
its a security thing
have you heard about WhatsApp?
Yeah
thry say "every message is encrypted and cant be read hy anyone except you"
its the same encryption but for your data
Stored in volumes (C D E)
But why does it's turned on by itself
Its good of bitlocker is on
it protects data if Malicious activity is detected
And what is "Special Permission"
See
first
bitlocker enabled, means windows on its own tried to save your data
youre good
Now if you go on any folder
properties
security
There are permissions
to what extent a user can do
Listen to @Clover he’s smart.
special permissions im not aware but i had do something with, like Modifying core windows Files
Which we cannot delete or edit
HMM
it will always give you "Need permission from Trustedinstaller " error
but if you enable File inheritance, flag the user as owner with ownership and give all permissions
You can
You will be able to delete the files
except the ones which are critical for windows to function
Just takes some knowledge
I have a lot of passwords
Which password manager should I use..
i have deleted certain locked files related to cortana and legacy edge ehich you cannot nirmally
Still able to be deleted via certain ways, but you don’t want to
ylur personal diary
else hse chrome browser
I use 1Password, it fits all my needs, it might not fit yours.
But remember if you reinstall or delete chrome browser all passwords will be lost
or simply save the needed Password on your phone
I'll be right back guys and text on my phone cuz my computer is about to restart
In notes app
Ooo, could you share that process to me?
sure
when i reach home i will
in 2 hours
👍 DMs please

I won’t be able to answer for 10 hours or something like that

That’s when I’ll be back
hm
Country of residence?

EST
aight
I will not be able to respond to anything in till ~5:45 maybe 15 minutes early if my commute is fast
Thanks I've reset everything but I'm not sure if I'm safe now or not
No, Windows 11 will enable Bitlocker now automatically
yes you are
no worries
thats why i called cloud option
full fresh installation of windows
These are simply SIDs
@Starry you free?
There was no problem here, just people not understanding how Windows works and making a mountain out of a nothing
So don't sign in with your Microsoft account if you don't want Bitlocker enabled
their friend installed cracked applications though
:erm:
from unknown source
That's why I'm panicked cuz uhh I'm scared of virus
Could that be something sketchy? Sure, but the evidence presented is just normal Windows shit
Highly recommend getting defender UI https://www.cyberlock.global/DefenderUI.aspx
Because this never happened before but suddenly my pc got BitLock when I turned it on again
Ooo
hmm
nice
Are you signed into Windows with your Microsoft account?
I do but like this happened now so I thought it was virus
I've signed into it for months and this happened now so that's why I freaked out
You noticed it recently lol
It could also be due to an update if it truly only happened recently
Like why there's unknown account with special permission on the security tab
Yes, but they aint getting random stuff pop up
Those numbers are simply SID representations
If they aren't then what's your point?
Hmm idk what is SID
Security ID
Basically a number representation of accounts
It could be mapped to the system account or something else, idk. I'm not in your registry
Ohh but well I felt more safer now at least since the crack apps that my friend installed gone so thanks for the help guys since I don't know any clues about these stuff
Like checked google but
They said it can be suspicious or not
So yeah I'm confused
Yeah, that shit could easily have crap in it but there are plenty of legitimate ones out there. Either way, if I was gonna spread malware, that's personally how I'd do it
How do I marked this one as solved
Better safe than sorry but I wanted to chime in about those things you see being normal
Okiee
Got it marked for you
Thank you
For sure, any time
Noice, thanks for the help and see you all in the future
