On AWS EC2 Ubuntu: Is it normal that su works for AD user, but ssh fails?
I have an AWS EC2 Ubuntu instance joined to an Active Directory on another windows server, and I created the domain user, and while I can su into the user after SSH as ubuntu, I can't SSH directly into the domain user.
right now, I do, SSH first to the Ubuntu, then SU to the domain user.

this is when I try to ssh the user

so the user exists on the server but you can't get into it via ssh
this is most likely a AD configuration issue
i believe the config you want is to change the dial-in user properties to enable remote login
at least on RDP it would be something like that, i wonder if ssh uses that property too
My other windows server could RDP into the user
When I try to connect it shows Permission denied (publickey)
I found out that the file /etc/ssh/sshd_config.d/60-cloudimg-settings.conf was created by Ubuntu's cloud image and it overrides other settings by setting PasswordAuthentication no, which stopped me from logging in directly with my domain user.
lmao
