How to access bios on Acer Chromebox
Hello guys, I’m trying to access the BIOS on an Acer Chromebox CXI5 using a regular USB keyboard, but none of the key combinations online seem to work. I’ve already tried F2, Esc, Del, Ctrl+D at boot, and a few others, but it just boots normally every time. I need to access the BIOS for a company compliance requirement. Does anyone know the correct key or method for this model?

this should be easy enough to google
but Chromebooks are also really finicky so you might not be able to
yes, I know, but, I've tried many methods but didn't work:<
yea you might just not be able to get into them
no silverwolfing for you :SilverWolfCRINGE:
aight, but hey thanks for helping out
The firmware (or ~BIOS) is not user upgradable, per se. You can replace it (and restore it) using https://mrchromebox.tech/#fwscript. When you replace it, you can boot about any OS (getting it working well depends on your Chromebook, driver availability, ...). Read all about it at https://mrchromebox.tech. BTW, for Chromebooks beyond AUE (although not necessary at all), you can replace the firmware and replace Chrome OS with CloudReady, Chrome OS Flex, Brunch Framework, ...., to get updates (each replacement has its pros/cons ... but nothing exactly replaces Chrome OS).via https://www.reddit.com/r/chromeos/s/jhV97NWUzQ looks like most chromebooks have a firmware rather than a typical bios :SILVERWOLFCOPIUM:
