Zoom Phone Offboarding

I work for a company that recently switched to Zoom and I am having trouble figuring out how to handle offboarding. Some of the numbers linked to people's accounts are going to need to be forwarded to another team member who's going to handle the outgoing employee's case load. How is this possible? If I have to remove the outgoing employee from the company's account, then I need to unbind their number. I've been just assigning the unbound number to whom ever is handling that persons stuff (in addition to their already existing line). I feel like this is NOT how I should be doing this. Does anybody have any suggestions? Or would you provide some details into how your company handles the process, please?

Heyo! I may be able to assist, just so I can be sure, are these employees assigned extensions that need fowarding or actual indivual numbers you've ported in?

Every employee has their own number and extension. When one leaves the company they might still have cases they are working and whatever call that was going to go to the outgoing employee now needs to be forwarded to someonoe else that can manage those cases.

Well for the extension your can just setup a AR to foward say extension 300 to 302. For the numbers there really no good way (to my knowledge) other than unassigning then re assigning to the employee thats taking over, you may be able to mess with the calll handling setting but im not sure how that will work with in your case

If I do nothing but forward the extension, will the calls get to the person taking over? Context: In Google Workspace if someone leaves the company you can remap the emails to whoever is taking that on. There's some kind of middleware there handling that rerdirection. Is it the same with Zoom? Since It's all the same account when a call comes in is it looking for numbers or extensions? If you could just forward the extension that would be nice
