press ctrl + d
you need to give the cat command an argument otherwise it will just wait for your input
and enters standard input mode
oh ok so if I ctrl+d it will go back
yes, or alternatively use ctrl+c to just kill the process
ctrl+c tends to work a lot more reliabily in my experience
i have been pressing ctrl c to paste up until now
close the terminal and reopen lol
or just continue whatever you were doing in a new tab
