Debating on switching to an iPhone -- want to give Android one more shot.
(This seems like the best place to ask my question, if it fits somewhere else then please point me towards there)
I'm currently thinking about switching my (now over two-year old) Google Pixel 7 Pro to a phone in the Apple ecosystem. I'm a big security and privacy enthusiast, and use a privacy focused ROM for my phone currently called Graphene OS. While my experience has been great mostly, I have several complaints about it in terms of functionality. Should I give GrapheneOS another go maybe? How should I clean it up? If not, what Android alternatives would be worth checking out? Should I consider switching to an iPhone instead? I have a lot of family that uses Apple products, and I think the barren Android SMS is extremely lacking for communication. If not, why should I stay on Android?

Cost and restrictions. Apple has a habit of removing features and selling them back to you. They are also much more restrictive; there were plenty of things I found I wasn't able to do with apple products that they should have been able to do in theory. And if I could find an app that would do it, there was always extra cost involved.
Some people like those restrictions though, its truly preference. I couldn't be paid to use apple, but others love them.
id say base android OS is generally pretty good all things considered
like i switched to android in... i wanna say 2018 and ive never looked back

i mean if you really wanna play imessage games then sure you can do that
but there's a lot of functionality you can get from messaging if you just switch your chatting platform, like using google messages app instead of the default
GrapheneOS also sucks with battery for some reason?
Maybe I should do a fresh install. Lol
