Hi! got a question. How common are remote-access trojans in android? Especially in suspicious links
The text was from an official company but the text part was compromised by hackers. I thought it was legitimate but then I later learned that scammers are using the bank to trick people. So I need help to know how to get rid of one if it's possibly in my phone. Or maybe just malware in general from suspicious links that's downloaded into my phone if that happened.

not common, RATs in Android are far more difficult because of how android is built
obviously delete any thing that might be malicious and keep your phone up to date
What about anti virus?
Can malware or RAT be detective by antivirus in android phones?
RATs arent impossible but that's nation-state level grade
Why does google say it's common?
so if you don't work for the government you really have nothing to worry about

ok ive kinda overestimated its security, it would seem
it is more difficult, but it's not impossible and it's been done
So how do I get rid of it?
I don't know if I have one but let's say I do, how do I get rid of it?
android antivirus definitely exists but im not aware of any that are actually legitimate
just because i haven't looked into it at all
from what im reading, you would've downloaded and installed an app
you would've known if you let it install an app
because it's an entire process to enable installing apps and you would've had to enable that yourself
if you didn't install an app, chances are you're fine

yea it looks like you have to go through an entire installer to be able to install a RAT
because android really doesn't let you run arbitrary code without installing an apk, so if you didn't install an apk, you don't have anything to worry about
if you did, you should first uninstall it and then check your permissions to make sure none of your apps can reinstall it
Ok. But if you don't mind, I would like to have multiple opinions for this as well. My mind is going a little crazy right now so having several opinions from different people would give me some comfort. Sorry for that. Just really scared.
Still, I'm thankful for having at least one person or two replying.
