Strong password related stuff

So what the internet is saying "have a strong password" make your password random, make it long and unique" all that shi Well from what i currently understand, all this does is essentially make it less likely to be bruteforced, but i dont think that is a direct definition of being safe , being safe can be conducted by eg 2fa or not throwing your passwords on random websites. Do correct me if im wrong but i think the knowledge of strong password doesnt = safe should be spread around if it hasn't already....

I wanna build an AI chatbot for a discourse forum but turns out we wont get the API access, Is there any potential way to still be able to automate sending messages and getting replies from there? maybe webscraping is a thing, but that only gets the reply IG I have the AI backend ready and I just want a way to automate the interaction with the forum...

MoCA support

This problem is related to #Bizarre network behavior, unable to communicate with VM but can ping but separate. Basically a separate segment of my network is failing for unknown reasons. Homelab still has problems, but completely separate problems. Instead, my MoCA link to my home wifi is no longer working. See the diagram. Basically, we had a power outage a few days ago. After the power came back on after a few very good chapters of Project Hail Mary, the internet was working mostly fine for everyone in the home. It worked fine until the next morning when the wi-fi cut out. I tested my homelab setup and my homelab setup was fine aside from the known issues; I'm typing this message from my homelab right now. Even my dad was able to get his meetings working once I gave him a direct connection into my network. I tested out every part of the network I could. I wired up everything I could think of. About the only thing I can think of that I could test is the home's MoCA wiring itself. I tested all other cables, that's why I was able to mark them as good. The only thing left to be bad is the MoCA adapters themselves. When I took the known good cable and connected the adapters to each other, I didn't see the MoCA light turn on. The ethernet lights did seem to turn on, but the MoCA lights did not. I can only assume that the adapters themselves have failed somehow, or my home wiring is to blame and I need to replace it. Somehow....
Solution:
so we had a guy come out aned take a look, he replaced the moca adapters and we got things working

How to Set Up a Free Reverse Shell Using a Free Domain and Cloudflare Tunnel (No VPS Required)

I want to set up a reverse shell using a free domain and Cloudflare Tunnel. I don’t want to rent a VPS, so I’m looking for a 100% free method where I can use my own machine to receive connections through a domain name. Can you guide me step-by-step on how to get a free domain and configure Cloudflare Tunnel with it?

I got stuck in GRUB while installing Linux Mint Xcde and I can’t get out

So, I was just installing Linux Mint on my laptop and it just bricked itself. Im stuck in GRUB and linux /vmlinuz root=/dev/sda3 doesn’t load the kernel. The engine just replies with ‘file ‘/vmlinuz’ not found’. I think hopefully I have the wrong root but if I do have the right root and the file isn’t there im fucked and this laptop is bricked. ‘boot’ doesn’t work because as mentioned earlier, I don’t have the kernel loaded.

Bizarre network behavior, unable to communicate with VM but can ping

Ok so the tl;dr on my network is I have a home server, desktop, and a firewall device all connected to a switch. Inside my home server I have several VMs on their own bridged interface and subnet routed via the firewall and home server. I am able to use my desktop to ping my devices, but I am unable to access the VMs through any services (see image). I am able to SSH into the server itself and then into the devices, but I cannot interact with the devices inside.

Office has been receiving Phishing emails from reputable domains

Hi y’all! I’ve gotten two tickets so far from users receiving emails that look suspiciously like phishing, but the addresses look legitimate. One of them ends in @zoomus (a real domain owned by Zoom) and the other @microsoftonline.com (also owned by Microsoft) but both emails are directed towards people that neither user have ever been in communication with. Any advice on how to further look into these messages and how to educate users on spotting them in the future? UPDATE: both users HAVE been encouraged to delete the message or already have. We have a spam filter system but I’m not quite sure if I should be blocking these addresses since they COULD be used for legitimate purposes in the future....
Solution:
I'd nuke anything that doesn't come from their outlined addresses for the meantime, unless there is potential for operation impact, quick way to address the zoom domain at least momentarily.

So my laptop decided to goof me and decided to make me deaf

Tell Me About VPSs

Hello! I am looking to run an access to relay (first of the three). I looked on the tor website and I saw that a lot of the ISPs that allow it offer VPS services instead of routers? So, if I connected a Tor relay through a VPS it wouldn't affect, or be known to the router ISP? How does that work?
