Malware on my external drive converted .eml files into .js files. I’ve unplugged the drive.

How can I safely check if the malware is still active in my external drive and if more files were affected ?

i believe there's an option in windows to disable plug-and-play

are you able to just plug in the drive without actually running anything? if you can just run a windows defender full scan and you'll be fine

Use a old PC or Phone for test. And copy the files if u can do , after the copying you can test them in a VM or just test them directly in a old device ıdk
