What are you using this for? Just to help form suggestions with relevant components.
well i would like some AMD alternatives to get rid of intel me and backdoors, and honestly it's so that i have a smoother experience playing games or using multiple apps at the same time aswell
So gaming and a memory boost, got it. You understand you'll have to change your motherboard because the Intel v. AMD sockets are different, correct?
Not to mention the memory (RAM) standards are most likely going to be different as well going from DDR3 to DDR4/5
Also, what is your overall budget for the upgrade?
^^ but any am4 cpu is prob your best choice tho for price
Used market is pretty good for them
AM4 and specifically the X3D processors are great for a litany of things, but that's going to ultimately depend on budget availability because those aren't on the cheap side at all lol
You know any task other than gaming that benefits from that extra l3?
Typically depends on the generation (and other components used with it), but most of the time gaming, simulation/rendering, and video encoding projects are going to perform better with those processors. Not all of them, however, it really depends on the process and what it's actually doing. AMD processors usually have a lower power draw as well.
games depend more on single core performance
just plot single core benchmarks with price and pick one
That’s so generalized tho 😭
Depends a lot on the game
jesus christ
id say save your money and try to build a new AM5 build instead, AM4 isn't dead but if you're already going to upgrade just go straight to the modern era
you can keep the 980 iguess but you would need new cpu, motherboard, and RAM
and you can definitely find all that for the $400USD range
Wonder when we’ll learn about his budget
🗿
Am5 is def the way to go if he has like $500 tho
yea am4 build is probably gonna be in the $250USD range but with some extra money bro can just jump up to modern specs
ignoring the gpu
