General use laptop recommendations?

Hello, does anyone have general use laptop recommendations? I’m looking for a decent laptop but I don’t know where to start or what brand to go with. I have a budget of $600.

idk where you are but oyu're not gonna find much in USA for $600 your best option might just be a google pixel

I don’t know tbh. I guess I could try looking, but I’m weary of second hand electronics. Is it a laptop? It looks more like a tablet.

it's neither a google pixel is a phone you can buy a bluetooth keyboard and mouse if you want that, that should be within your budget but you're not gonna find almost anything new at that price range, at least in USA

Oh I thought you were talking about a pixelbook

:VentiShrug: if you just wanna game though you can buy a steamdeck or something
The Amish Mandingo
I do have a steam deck

if you just need it for school or work, buy a mid-range chromebook

I just want a general use laptop to like write emails and stuff or watch movies

but for general use you don't really have many options then just buy a mid-range chromebook you can buy a $450-$550 chromebook at best buy and itll do that stuff easily the one thing it can't do is play games, but that's why you have the steamdeck :Phrogames:

Aren’t chromebooks really ass though? I would prefer something that runs windows that I can use offline.

well you're not gonna get anything like that under $600. im sorry i don't like it either

I see

you can still use chromebooks offline but yea they're not amazing but if you download your movies you can still watch them just fine you don't get all the tools like VLC and shit but it's better than nothing

I’ve seen some stuff from Lenovo that’s around my price range, do you know if that brand is good?
The Amish Mandingo
Thank you I’ll look into it

i didn't think about mega sales so maybe there is stuff you can get though yea for ticket price nothing is below $600 with mega sales you could find something though

I found this one on Amazon that’s slightly more expensive ($550$) but it has seemingly better specs. Would it be wise to buy that one or should I buy from Lenovo directly?

if i were you i would buy the lenovo specifically because i prefer to avoid amazon for personal reasons though i think if you asked most of the people on this server they would just say amazon, because amazon has a very good return policy just check which one has better reviews and make sure the amazon seller is actually reputable
The Amish Mandingo
Okay thank you I’ll do that I ended up buying the one I saw on Amazon. The reviews looked good and it comes directly from the Lenovo brand. It was a little pricier, but I think it’s worth it for the upgraded specs.
