Getting a new laptop

Hi everyone, I plan to get into cybersecurity next year, and would like to get a new laptop. What would be the best option for me as a beginner/learner?

if you're in USA and a lot of europe and you're on a budget, you can easily go to a laptop repair shop with some good reviews and buy a refurbished business laptop

they aren't perfect but it's a good option on a budget for just cyber, and it's also easy to work with

if you want something new though, really any modern macbook will work

for a non-apple option, you can probably go with a decent dell, hp, or lenovo laptop at your pricepoint

in parts of india and broader south asia, my understanding is you can do basically the same thing but you're gonna end up paying more of course

for cyber, GPU doesn't matter, so try to aim for a cpu with a high core count and ≥16gb of RAM

If you can get a laptop with 16GB, but can be expanded up to 32GB then you're good enough

It all depends on what kind of tools you're going to use, how much your budget is, but generally I'd personally go for 32 GB Ram cause of Multiple VM instances

Again, it depends on which kind of software you're using, apart from the ones you want to learn.

For example - Microsoft Office, valorant etc
