Minor display diagnostic support
Rather minor issue here but still worth documenting and asking. Every once in a while, typically when I alt-tab, my screen partially goes partially red for a frame or two. This started happening out of nowhere roughly a week or so ago, but it seems to only happen once or twice a day, if even that. I did buy a second monitor just to see if it still happens and it hasn't yet, but I haven't really alt-tabbed too much on it so I can't be fully sure.
Malware on my external drive converted .eml files into .js files. I’ve unplugged the drive.
How can I safely check if the malware is still active in my external drive and if more files were affected ?
Thoughts on a Master's in Cybersecurity (especially for gov work)?
I'm starting college this fall and strongly considering a Computer Science B.S. degree. My end goal would definitely be Cybersecurity, but from what I've read, a Cybersecurity B.S. is less employable and less flexible. There is a Security "concentration" in my CS degree that I would probably choose, although this option isn't ABET-accredited (but the "general CS" option is ABET-accredited). The B.S. in Cybersecurity at my school is NSA CAE-CD accredited. Does the ABET accreditation matter, especially for government jobs?
Speaking of! I want to work in Cybersecurity, but more specifically for the Federal Gov. I personally would rather take the stability and especially the government benefits in the public sector over the higher pay but layoffs, higher stress, and worse benefits in the private sector. This is also partly because I have a chronic health issue and good healthcare coverage is essential for me.
So here's my main question(s): 1. Which degree option is best? CompSci Security? CompSci general? Cybersecurity? And 2. is a Master's in this field worth it? Ever since I was younger, it was my plan to get a Master's I absolutely love learning, so I always just pictured myself continuing my education after my B.S. to gain more in-depth knowledge in the field. I am a huge STEM nerd and really love science and math, so I'm wondering if a M.S. would allow me to do more intellectually challenging / higher level work in this field, especially for the feds. Is a M.S. generally valued by federal employers? If I get a M.S., which would be best? A general CS master's? A CS master's with a specialization in Cybersecurity/some aspect of Cybersecurity? Or a M.S. directly in Cybersecurity?...
Recommendations on IT-infrastructure visualizer tool

I'm currently looking for a tool to plan or visualize IT-infrastructure (so if possible with Router, Switches, Server, VMs, Notebooks / PCs...) without it being super tedious like drawing each single line as if you are making it in PowerPoint. I do have two use cases in which I would apply this tool to:
1. In the near future I want to get myself a homelab (maybe even a rack) and also setup my networking at home. Also going to use VLANs to separate guest stuff, my private stuff, households private stuff and work-related stuff (working from homeoffice) from each other. Plans to expand being brainstormed but not included in here. For that it would be nice to use the tool, to plan my home-IT-infrastructure accordingly and afterwards use this as a visual documentation of it (ofc works only if I update it lol).

so, my usb drive is supposed to be 32gb, but when I inserted it, it only showed like 500mb. i deleted the main partition in partition manager and now it just opens a bunch of explorer tabs when i insert it please help😭😭😭😭😭

I’m currently in my second semester of a BS in Accounting & Finance, and I’ve been thinking about building some tech skills on the side. I’m especially interested in Google’s Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, and Advanced Data Analytics certificate programs on Coursera.
Now, I know you can take the courses for free if you just audit them, but you only get the certificate if you pay. I’m wondering — is it really worth paying for the certificates? Like, do employers actually care about them or is it more about the skills you pick up?
I’m trying to figure out if it makes sense to invest the money or just focus on learning and building a portfolio instead. I don’t come from a computer science background, so I’m trying to add some useful, practical skills alongside my finance degree....
