trying to boot linux mint onto an old ish win7 laptop

i already have a bootable SD card, and a bootable USB drive, and wiped win7 off of the laptop. no luck with the SD card, havent been able to use USB (USB and SD both bootable with rufus) linux mint cinnamon usually...

VM (utm) Bridged Networks

Im using ip configuration in settings for utm, and im not sure what to do for guest and host ipv4 networks. Do i put my Host Address as my public IPV4 AND put my guest network as public IPV4 or do i use LAN ip’s?

Podman vs Docker vs Another Competitor?

I'm having a hard time to choose between podman and docker (another option?). I have never touching both of it (i mean i happen to run minecraft server with docker on windows in the past, but it doesn't count). I didn't have many use for it now probably, except when i am building something (for example jar files etc) i want an uncontaminated place, and i'm hoping when i nuking it (delete the apps and it's container) it will not leave any garbages on my machine. I hear a good thing about podman because it didn't require root privileges and its daemonless (idk what it mean), but i'm not sure if i could achieve that with it....

hey guys. um my dumbass fell for a 2FA scam on my instagram account and now the hacker is asking me to pay them a gift card (which, knowing hackers im not going to pay.... which is also all i said i had). My number is still attached to the account but the email is not mine, i tried password resetting through my phone but it just wont send me the code 🥀 🥀

mouse controls are inverted

as of about 10 minutes ago, my mouse clicks just suddenly inverted themselves. left click is right click, and vice-versa. anyone know what's up with this?

spyware app or files?

Hey everyone , i have recently been worried about my phone having any kind of spyware which might mirror my screen or stuff like that . My reason of suspicion is one of my classmates kind of started to talk about the things which i have been searching off ( although the things r basic and ig its normal). i have gone through all the processes google and AI says and i found no real suspicious thing as such . if there are any other ways to detect , please share . Minor display diagnostic support

Rather minor issue here but still worth documenting and asking. Every once in a while, typically when I alt-tab, my screen partially goes partially red for a frame or two. This started happening out of nowhere roughly a week or so ago, but it seems to only happen once or twice a day, if even that. I did buy a second monitor just to see if it still happens and it hasn't yet, but I haven't really alt-tabbed too much on it so I can't be fully sure.

Malware on my external drive converted .eml files into .js files. I’ve unplugged the drive.

How can I safely check if the malware is still active in my external drive and if more files were affected ?
